What this app does
The cost-per-use calculator shows what a purchase really costs per day and per use. A pricey item that lasts years becomes cheap per day; a short-lived buy stays expensive.
There is no account and no server-side history. Inputs stay in this browser (localStorage). As a PWA you can add it to the home screen and keep the list offline.
What to enter
- Item name, purchase price, and purchase date.
- Expected lifespan (days, months, or years). Cost per day = price ÷ that span. If you leave it empty, the app divides by days since purchase — so “bought today” can look like the full price.
- Times used (optional). When set, cost per use = price ÷ count.
How to read the numbers
Daily cost assumes you will use the item for the lifespan you set. A coat you plan to wear three years should use three years. Purchase date records when you bought it; once lifespan is set, that span is the main divisor for cost per day.
When people open it
People open it before checkout to ask “what is this per day?” A sticker price that feels high often shrinks to a few coffees once lifespan is filled in.
It also helps audit what you already own. Name plus lifespan and use count separates “expensive but daily” from “cheap but idle.”

Is my price data stored on a server?
No. Math and lists stay in the browser. On a shared device, clear site data when you are done.
I bought it today and cost per day equals the full price.
Set an expected lifespan. With no lifespan, the app divides by days since purchase (minimum 1), so “today” becomes price ÷ 1.
Is it free? Are there ads?
It is a free browser tool. Google AdSense ads may appear.
