What this app does
Mixshelf is not a books-only or games-only app. You put books, games, movies and TV on one shelf, attach as many custom tags as you like, then filter with type chips and tag chips, or search by title.
You are not locked to barcode scans or an online catalog. Type the title yourself. There is no account, no subscription, and no “three free items per type” wall. The shelf stays on this device, and you can export or import a JSON backup whenever you want.
How to use it
- Tap add and type a title. Pick Book, Game, Movie or TV as the type.
- Add tags such as Author: Stephen King or Books I've Read. You can attach several.
- Status (unread, reading, read, playing, finished, wishlist) and notes are optional.
- Tap type chips and tag chips to filter. Multiple chips stack as AND. Clear filters turns them all off.
- Use Export JSON / Import JSON in Backup to move the shelf. Import replaces what is on this device.
What is not here
- No login and no sign-up. Open the address and add the first title right away.
- No subscription and no per-type free-tier lock. It is not “a few books free, games behind paywall”.
- No barcode or external catalog lock. You type titles by hand.
Where does my data go?
It stays on this device. The shelf is not uploaded to try-dabble servers. To move devices, export JSON and import it on the new one.
Are there ads?
Google AdSense ads may appear. They are separate from your shelf, and the app has no subscription.
